Carrie Underwood in Randi Rahm - 2012 CMT Music Awards

Carrie Underwood attended the 2012 CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday evening.

The country music sweetheart wore a sequined, gun-metal Randi Rahm mini with short sleeves.  I was pleasantly surprised to see her in this dress since usually likes to wear frou-frou gowns to such events.

Wavy locks, bold eyes and a black clutch completed her look, but those cut-out boots are awful.

Carrie Underwood in Oscar de la Renta - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Carrie Underwood wore a fresh off the runway, Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 ball gown to the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

She looked cute in the whimsical, dove grey and rose pink tulle dress with amazing architecture - it doesn't feel overwhelming at all.

Carrie wore it with wavy hair, silver peeptoes and carried a bejewelled clutch.

Carrie Underwood in Abed Mahfouz - 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards

Carrie Underwood showed off some leg in an Ahmed Mahfouz Spring 2012 Couture gown at this year's ACMs.

The ivory, strapless chiffon gown with embellished detail and a leg split was nice and all but felt slightly dated.

Curly, side-wept locks matched the tone of her gown which was off-putting too.

Fashion Roundup

Gwyneth Paltrow attended the Women in Film Pre-Oscars event in a jumpsuit by Band of Outsiders that had tuxedo-like lapels and a plunging neckline.  Her favourite Loree Rodkin necklace, and Jimmy Choo peep-toes completed the look.

Selena Gomez also attended the event in a dress by Ani Lee that had a bustier top and a skirt.  There's just something costume-y about this dress no? She looks like she's just jumped off the set of some Disney fairy movie.

Katy Perry is currently in the City of Lights as she attends shows during Paris Fashion Week.

For a lunch, Katy wore a Vera Wang Spring 2012 dress in a pale blue and paired it with a pink bag and nude sandals - it feels like a mismatch of things but at least the colours are pretty.

Then in the evening, she wore a Balmain mini dress with the signature markings of the label's dresses.  

By now you must know how much I detest her blue hair.

Kate Middleton did a charity event in a bright Missoni coat, which she wore with suede Rupert Sanderson pumps.  I love the addition of the bright daffodils.

Carrie Underwood wore an iridescent Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 gown to an event.  Love this dress on her, but the hair-do feels too pageant-y.

Carrie Underwood went for covered up dress by Gomez Gracia at the Grammys.

The white dress which was flecked with sequins had full sleeves and a covered neck but a surprise cutout in the back.  A messy updo and a black clutch completed her look.

Carrie Underwood wore a Maria Lucia Hohan dress to the 2011 American Country Awards.

The strapless, light peach coloured frock with a full skirt was worn by Carrie with playful ankle-strap heels.

So glad to see her in something other than peeptoes/pumps even though those ankle-straps could have been thinner.

An elegant updo, diamond earrings, and a sparkly clutch completed her look.

The column gown with a portrait neckline & cap sleeves was a perfect choice on Carrie who wore it with glossy tresses and gold earrings.

It has been a slow week, not many great outfits. Here's a summary of some of the looks that worked and others that didn't quite do it.

Jennifer Lopez, at the final of the American Idol wore a sparkly, nude Michael Kors jumpsuit with heels from the label. As far as most of her previous attempts at jumpsuits go, this was an improvement. However, it's still unsightly below the waist and makes her leg look stumpy.

Halle Berry showed off her tummy in an asymmetrical jersey Halston dress. We know, Halle, you have an amazing body but the giant cutout takes it a little too far.


Katie Holmes wore her own label, Holmes & Yang at an event. The fuschia shade is gorgeous and I like the pussy bow blouse but the maxi skirt is ill fitting, instead of separates, this piece would have looked better as a dress.

Kate Winslet looked mighty elegant in NYC, in a monochromatic Narciso Rodriguez gown. She balanced the geometric pattern of the dress with a soft hair do, drop earrings and red lipstick.

At the Kung Fu Panda 2 LA premiere, Angelina wore a black Michael Kors dress. It's trademark Angelina in that it's a safe silhouette and black, I'm glad she wore her hair up though, it lends a youthful touch to the look.

Lucy Liu was also present at the premiere, she chose a flirty white Marchesa dress, with nude peeptoes.

Jessica Biel, at a Revlon event, wore a teal coloured suit. It's not so much the colour that I hate, nor the overall suit - there's just too much teal though, she should have broken it up somewhere, maybe a different coloured shirt, or jacket?

Carrie Underwood, also at the American Idol red carpet, wore a lovely, beaded Lorena Sarbu tunic with embellished nude heels. The tunic is beautiful, and those heels make her legs look miles long!

Pretty as a Picture

Spotted: Eva Longoria & Carrie Underwood. Both wore demure silhouettes with the hems skimming their knees and looked every so pretty.

Eva wore a sweet pink dress by Victoria Beckham at the launch of her new book, "Eva's Kitchen" - appropriate much! She wore matching blush heels and looked totally classy.

Carrie Underwood was seen at a musical event sporting a pewter coloured, bedazzled dress with long sleeves which she wore with silver peeptoes. I love the style of long sleeves with a shorter hems, it balances out the entire look.
