Anushka Sharma In Sabyasachi & The Row - 2011 Dubai Film Festival

Anushka Sharma promoted her upcoming movie 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl' earlier during the day.

At the press conference, she wore a sheer blouse with embellished shoulders by Sabyasachi, pairing it with tapered pants by The Row.

While I love both, the pairing wasn't suitable for a daytime event; the side bun and make-up also felt heavy.

Wish she'd worn this for a party because as a standalone look, it's fab.

IIFA Awards 2011

The annual iifa awards took place in Toronto, Canada during the weekend and I have to say, the clothes didn't disappoint (overly), no disasters, at the very least.

Sonakshi Sinha wore an Alexander McQueen sheath, which has been seen on Kim Kardashian before; it's a good choice for her but I'm not loving those ankle-strap wedges - too casual.

She went for shimmer next, in a wrap dress - again, looks great on her but the hairstyle is too severe and the flower makes her look like a flamenco dancer almost.

Neha Dhupia nailed it on both nights; the polka-dot print shouldn't really work on the green carpet but this Lanvin dress looks so very elegant!

She later wore a chain-detail, cream-coloured Catherine Malandrino dress that she wore with the right hair and make up.

Dia Mirza had a pattern - maxi-style dresses with floral prints and a soft hair-do which is fine but I wish she'd had some fun with her fashion!

The Blumarine dress worked well on her but the second Matthew Williamson didn't really wow me.

Priyanka Chopra stuck to Manish Malhotra - the velvet is horrendous but at least the white overpowers it.

Shilpa Shetty also went with a shimmery black gown, hers a Dolce & Gabbana - but the gaudy necklace and shoes are a turn off.

Anuskha Sharma looked absolutely lovely in a Sabyasachi saree, flawless.

FICCI Closing Ceremony Style

Spotted: Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aishwarya Rai at the closing ceremony of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

Vidya stuck to her trademark Sabyasachi saree, going for a lime green hue. I love the colour but the blouse looked a little too busy.

Sonakshi Sinha wore a white dress from the Anita Dongre Timeless collection. It's not obvious from the photo but she had her hair up in a slick ponytail - simple yet striking.

Aishwarya Rai (spotted with Shah Rukh Khan) wore a light pink net saree (probably by Manish Malhotra). Needless to say, I'm not a fan even though her face looks beautiful as usual.

In Traditional Attire

Avantika Khan (spotted with husband Imran Khan), Sonam Kapoor and model turned TV host Padma Lakshmi all chose traditional Indian clothes for their respective outings.

At a wedding, Avantika wore a white salwar kameez that had some coloured prints, she left the dupatta (scarf-like thing) out and wore nude peeptoes to finish the look. It's a nice and simple look but feels a little too simple for a wedding... having said that, I'd take this look any day over a horrendous Manish Malhotra type outfit.

Sonam Kapoor was also at the wedding, wearing a sunny yellow saree. I love the bright, cheery colours and the simple gold accessories but not loving the crushed feel of the fabric.

Padma Lakshmi was seen at an NYC event wearing a sheer green saree by Indian designer, Sabyasachi. I'm not a fan of the green tinge to the saree, but the blue and pink go well together.

Reception Style - Misses

Vidya Balan wore a Sabyasachi outfit again (no surprises there) and looked booooooring, the crimped hair is awful too. Rani Mukherji wore a bright yellow sheer saree, also by Sabyasachi and even though I should ideally like her look, this time I can't bring myself to. I think it's the huge red bindi on her forehead as well as the heavy earrings that are ruining the look somehow.

Genelia D'Souza wore a plain red saree and I'm not a fan. I think Genelia's one of those rare women on whom a saree just doesn't look right somehow but that could just be me.

Saree Style

Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Vidya Balan went the saree way at the same award function as Anushka Sharma. Between the two, my pick would be the Sabyasachi clad Vidya Balan - she looked beautiful in the yellow checkered saree, worn with a back cut-out blouse; her hair was tied in a simple bun, adorned with fresh flowers! Mrs. Bachchan looked blue (facial expression included) in a horrible travesty of a saree by designer Manish Malhotra - the way that it's draped makes her look shapeless, the velvet hemline (EEEEEK) is appalling... the only redeeming aspect would be the colour of the saree but even that doesn't help here! Her father-in-law Mr. Amitabh Bachchan looks dapper in a suit & red tie though.
