Diane Kruger In Prada - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Diane Kruger finally granted my wish of seeing her on the red (okay, grey in this case) carpet.

The stunning German model wore a Prada Spring 2012 gown for the CCMAs in LA.

The yellow, and pale blue halter-neck crepe gown is part of the trend of yellow dresses at this event.  I'm not complaining, it's a very fresh colour combination.

Diane wore it with a Grecian updo, and pink lipstick (big trend) that matched her satin clutch.  Flawless.

Shailene Woodley In Calvin Klein - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Shailene Woodley wore a Calvin Klein Resort 2012 gown for the 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

'The Descendents' actress looked totally statuesque in the silver, halter-neck silk gown.

She wore her long hair down and put on minimal make-up.  Such a refreshing change of pace from the heavily embellished looks of the evening.

Emma Stone In Jason Wu - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Emma Stone continues to sport green - she looked great in this  

Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 dress and the colour complimented her red hair.

The print is totally fresh, and the cut outs at the neckline add that quirkiness to the dress.

 But I want to point out her amazing make-up.  Mind. Blown.

Michelle Williams In Chanel - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Michelle Williams stuck to her monochromatic palette at the CCMAs.

The Chanel Resort 2012 gown is classic and elegant looking for sure, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed.  I'm dying to see her in some bright colour.

 A warm lip colour complimented her newly strawberry blonde locks.

Kirsten Dunst In Christian Dior - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Kirsten Dunst was part of the LBD brigade at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

She wore a Christian Dior Spring 2012 dress for the event that had satin ribbon detail & chiffon tiers.

It's sweet and girly and I like that Kirsten wore her hair in a totally different style than we're used to seeing on her.  She also wore pink lipstick (I spy a red carpet trend coming along) instead of the expected red.

Elizabeth Olsen In Emilio Pucci - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Elizabeth Olsen was a knock-out at the CCMAs in this  

Emilio Pucci Spring 2012 dress.

The yellow & white beaded mini has a square neckline & full sleeves.   

I think I'm in love with this dress.

Elizabeth wore it just perfectly, with tousled hair, neutral make-up and cream coloured ankle-straps from the runway.  I'm so thankful she didn't do the smokey-eye, statement jewelery thing as the dress is just gorgeous.

Elle Fanning In Rodarte - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Elle Fanning wore a Rodarte Spring 2012 dress to the CCMAs.

The pale mint dress with sunflowers is whimsical &  looks like it was made for Elle.  She wore it really well, with natural hair & make-up.

Rodarte's Van Gogh inspired collection hasn't been seen on the red carpet a lot, except appearances from Kirsten Dunst (click here) & Mia Wasikowska (click here).

Chloe Moretz In Chanel - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Chloe Moretz wore a dress from the Chanel Fall 2011 collection for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

The slate grey, satin frock was typically frivolous - with puff sleeves, gauzy layers and embellishments.  Cool, but I wish Chloe had worn a dress from the Spring 2012 collection - the dresses are brighter and cheery (a theme of the night).

A neat hairstyle and black Rupert Sanderson ankle-straps completed her look.

Charlize Theron In Azzedine Alaia - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Charlize Theron experiemented with silhouette, in this Azzedeine Alaia number at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

The 'Young Adult' actress, who was nominated in the Best Actress category worked the dress! It's kind of strange yet looks classy, so bravo.

I also love that she tried a different hairstyle, this low, braided side bun goes well with her dress.

Tilda Swinton In Yves Saint Laurent - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

I wasn't surprised to see Tilda Swinton wear an androgynous outfit at the CCMAs.

The Yves Saint Laurent ensemble consisted of a black blouse, topped with a tuxedo jacket and wide-legged white pants.

Tilda wore it with her usual confidence and sense of minimalism.

Evan Rachel Wood In Valentino - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Evan Rachel Wood wore a Valentino Spring 2012 dress to the CCMAs.

I like this summery yet moody strapless dress with embroidery.  I wouldn't have pegged Evan to wear a dress from this collection but she does justice to this one.

She even tried to put her hair in a soft, romantic style, similar to the one on the runway but her pixie cut got in the way I guess.

Berenice Bejo In Elie Saab - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

French actress, Berenice Bejo of 'The Artist' wore an Elie Saab Spring 2012 dress to the CCMAs.  Her movie won the award for Best Picture.

The lapis blue cocktail dress with a deep v-neck and beading was nice but her accessories & hair totally let the look down for me.

The hair is so-so, but it's those matching earrings and gold heels (Jimmy Choo?) that I have issues with.

Ellie Kemper In Alberta Ferretti - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Ellie Kemper from 'The Office' & 'Bridesmaids' wore an  

Alberta Ferretti Spring 2012 dress to the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.  'Bridesmaids' won the award for Best Comedy.

The black, tea-length dress with a swirly pattern and a floaty hem was lovely on Ellie, and I love the way her hair colour compliments the black of the dress.  

A simple hairstyle, kohl-rimmed eyes, pink lips, black heels & a (gorgeous) clutch completed her look.

Viola Davis In Raoul - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Viola Davis (of 'The Help') was beautiful, in a Raoul Pre-Fall 2012 dress at the CCMAs.  This is the second time that Viola has worn a Raoul dress - remember this? (click here)

The tomato coloured column dress with a deep v-neck was simply gorgeous on Viola, and top it, she won the Best Actress gong too.

Glossy hair, kohl-rimmed eyes, a box clutch & gold tasseled earrings were the finishing touches.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Octavia Spencer, of 'The Help' wore a Tadashi Shoji dress for the CCMA.

The draped black silk dress looks lovely on the actress, who won the Best Supporting Actress (for 'The Help') award, and is figure-flattering without being boring.

She wore it with a tousled updo, crystal earrings, & a Swarovski clutch.

Jessica Chastain In Balenciaga - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Jessica Chastain switched things up in a Balenciaga gown for the event.

She wore a bubble-gum pink column gown that has a large cowl neck.  

The colour is gorgeous on her, the make-up is lovely but I can't say the same about the fit of the dress - it's loose on her bust but also at the bottom.

A sleek updo, Palladium jewelery & Jimmy Choo heels completed her look.
