Katherine Heigl in Monique Lhuillier - 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award Ceremony

Katherine Heigl stepped out for the AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony, honouring Shirley MacLaine on June 7th.

She wore a black dress with glitzy shoulder straps and a leg split, from the Monique Lhuillier Fall 2010 collection.

I just don't get her. The hair. It makes her look at least ten years older and her make-up is always amateurish.

Katherine Heigl In Michael Kors - 'One for the Money' Berlin Photocall

Katherine Heigl wore a zebra-print Michael Kors Spring 2012 dress for the Berlin photocall of her movie 'One for the Money'.

The one-shoulder, fitted dress was such a refreshing change on her; it's youthful and interesting.  The hair's still bothersome and the Ferregamo pumps with a gold sheen could have been swapped for some strappy sandals but baby steps right?

Katherine Heigl In Maria Lucia Hohan - 'One for the Money' Paris Premiere

Katherine Heigl wore a custom Maria Lucia Hohan gown for the Paris premiere of her new movie 'One for the Money'.

The dove grey dress with draping and an open back was flattering on Katherine, but a little dull.  Some colour was needed in the form of a lip colour or earrings.

Katherine Heigl In Herve Leroux - 'One for the Money' Premiere

Katherine Heigl wore a Herve Leroux gown for the NYC premiere of her movie 'One for the Money'.

Red has always been Katherine's colour (click here) and this dress with one shoulder strap also looks great on her.

The colour works, the make-up is okay, the earrings are lovely as are those silver Jimmy Choo heels however the hair is still such an issue.  I wish she'd just grow it back again.

Katherine Heigl In Dolce & Gabbana - 'New Year's Eve' Premiere

Katherine Heigl wore a lacy Dolce & Gabbana dress to the premiere of 'New Year's Eve'.

In doing so, she became the nth celebrity to wear a lacy dress from the label.  But I can't say she wore it well.

The hair is still such a big issue, and the obscenely in-your-face gold necklace doesn't go with the dress, neither do those shoes.

Katherine Heigl In Roberto Cavalli - 2011 American Music Awards

Katherine Heigl, who accompanied husband Josh Kelley wore a black Roberto Cavalli dress.

The plunge-neck dress with a centre split was a little too flashy in my opinion - either the leg or the cleavage, never both!

Slicked back locks, red lips, dangly earrings & strappy Jimmy Choo heels completed her look.

Elle's Women in Hollywood Tribute

A lot of A-Listers were in attendance last night at Elle Magazine's 18th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute event.

Jennifer Aniston worked it, in a plunge-neck, short, full-sleeved glitzy number by Kaufman Franco.  She wore matching minimalist Balenciaga heels & carried a Ferregamo clutch.

Reese Witherspoon looked cheery, in a black suit by Bocanegra with a lace blouse underneath;  black peeptoes by Louboutin and bold turquoise earrings lifted the look.

Freida Pinto wore a white, calf-length Calvin Klein dress, with a statement neck piece and colourful Marni heels.  Love the necklace, but maybe she should have worn minimalist sandals in silver/gold.

Evan Rachel Wood's black dress by Alessandra Rich was actually quite chic, but something about her look doesn't sit right with me.

Nicole Richie's one-shoulder, floral applique Douglas Hannant dress had a beautiful design but the dull brown of the dress is what's making this look a 'not quite'.  A chic updo, black earrings, silver clutch and black peeptoes completed her look.

Rachel Zoe looked great in her glamourous (yet boho as always) black dress, jazzing it up with gold earrings, tons of eyeliner, a bold cocktail ring & clutch.

The lovely Jayma Mays was all dressed up in a vibrant blue Malandrino dress with a one-shoulder & pleated detail.  I love how Jayma always wears different silhouettes & colours.

Katherine Heigl showed up in a simple LBD by Amanda Wakeley with an embellished key-hole neckline & waist.  I don't know why Katherine always looks older than she is, maybe it's that awful hairstyle... but her shoes aren't pretty either.

Naomi Watts also wore Calvin Klein - the peach coloured silk dress from the Spring Collection completely blends in with her skin tone!  And boring old nude shoes are just that... boring.

Camilla Alves went a different route, channeling a retro, vintage vibe in her polka-dot frock with cap sleeves, dark blue platforms and a beaded bag (which does seem out of place).  Straight hair stopped the look from being costume-y and the red lips go perfectly with her dress.

Amber Heard was in a powder pink sheath which she wore with gun-metal sandals and gothic make up.  Not on board with this mish-mash of a look.

Jenna Tatum wore a gold mini from Edition by Georges Chakra with an interesting neckline but I wish she'd worn some different heels instead of those nude peeptoes.

Elizabeth Olsen wore a long silver gown by Calvin Klein with straight hair, smoky eyes and chain-link bracelets.  The gown doesn't have a great fit and isn't youthful at all but her face looks pretty!

Chloe Moretz too wore Calvin Klein - the all white dress looks more like a stiff, sleeveless anorak and the hairstyle is not working.

Country Music Awards Style

Country music's pretty big in the States and last week, the genre's biggest night took place in the form of the Country Music Awards (CMA's). The event brought out a slew of singers/actresses onto the red carpet and here are some of their fashion choices. Gwyneth Paltrow was the biggest attraction of the night, she promoted her new movie, "Country Strong" by singing at the event! On the red carpet, Paltrow shined and showed her true A-List roots in a beautiful, shimmering pale Atelier Versace dress that showcased her toned bod to the best! Taylor Swift somehow disappointed me, her strapless red Monique Lhuillier gown was nice but that's about it - there was nothing youthful, exciting or innovative about it and thus fell flat, sorry Tay! Carrie Underwood, the host of the night wore a gun metal hued ruffled Talbot Runhof gown on the red carpet and while it wasn't my favourite, it certainly was different and stood out amongst the other silhouettes. Katherine Heigl showed up to support her husband's brother who was nominated in a satin, midnight blue gown and she looked gooood; the dress fit her perfectly and her accessories were lovely. Leighton Meester, who also stars in "Country Strong" wore an asymmetrical Pucci gown with Jimmy Choo heels (LOVE), my only complaint would be the ashy make-up, Leighton has the capacity to look much more radiant! Nicole Kidman supported her husband, Keith Urban in a lacy white Dolce & Gabbana number and added bright heels to the look, she looked nice but I always prefer Nicole in those flowy, ethereal Chanel type gowns. So there ya go, lecture's over :-)
