Emma Watson in Brood - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Emma Watson looked wonderful at this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The actress donned a Brood Fall 2012 dress which featured a graphic print throughout, with black lining and a peplum.

Emma is in that awkward hair stage where she's growing it so it was simply swept back and she completed her look with spiked cuffs and strappy Tabita Simmons sandals.  I never thought of Emma as a sandal girl but this dress needed them.

Peplums have been popular at this event (see here and here) and as far as the MTV Movie Awards go, this look was perfect for them.

Leighton Meester in Christian Cota - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Leighton Meester attended the 2012 MTV Movie Awards in a Christian Cota Spring 2012 ensemble.

The sleeveless white jacket with baggy pockets and shorts were worn by her with a graphic print top.  The look was sweet and sharp, at the same time.

I loved the ponytail and coral lip colour but her footwear shocked me.  Leighton is well known for her interesting shoe choices so I was very disappointed to find her wearing suede pumps.

Shailene Woodley in Stella McCartney - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Shailene Woodley was one of my favourites of the night at the MTV Movie Awards.

She looked super, super chic in a Stella McCartney Fall 2012 pant-suit with a sexy blazer top.  Shailene has the confidence and the body to carry this off with ease, and she did just that.

To add a youthful touch, she wore her hair in a messy braid and completed the rest of her look with simple heels.

Jessica Biel in Chanel - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Jessica Biel attended the MTV Movie Awards looking cool and collected.

She wore a textured Chanel Spring 2012 dress with bell sleeves.  I loved this dress when I first saw it - the texture and silhouette just looked so flattering.

I have not embraced Jessica's bangs but I am liking them with this dress which she wore with some white and green Barbara Bui heels.

Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Elizabeth Banks wowed me at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

She worked everything out of her Elie Saab Fall 2012 jumpsuit with lace cut-out panels and full sleeves.  A fierce top-knot, simple make-up and black Ruthie Davis pumps with gold heels completed the look.

I've never seen Elizabeth in something so fashion forward, but if her Met gala appearance was anything to go by, then I should have expected it.

Kate Beckinsale in Christian Dior - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Kate Beckinsale looked her glamorous best at the MTV Movie Awards.

The 'Total Recall' actress looked sophisticated in an ivory Christian Dior dress with a high neck, three-quarter sleeves and a drape detail.

I complain a lot about Kate's styling but at this event she looked perfect: a ponytail, gold jewelery, clutch and delicious purple Ferregamo pumps completed her look.

Emma Stone in Martin Grant - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Emma Stone wore a top and skirt from the Martin Grant Fall 2012 collection for the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.

The structured black top and pouffy skirt were very demure and lady-like and Emma played up that with her elegant hairstyle.

Flawless make-up featured bold eyelashes and bright pink lips.  She wore Brian Atwood 'Grace' heels, which looked dull as they matched her top and skirt; I would've loved to see some green heels.

Mila Kunis in Fendi - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Mila Kunis wore a Fendi Pre-Fall 2012 mini to Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards.

The sparkly mini was embellished with white, black and orange sequins but it was just too much on the 'mini' side for my liking and hence looked a little tacky.

Her hair and shoes also seemed uninspired.

Kristen Stewart in Guishem - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Kristen Stewart wore a Guishem dress to the MTV Movie Awards.

The colourful, metallic mini is right up Kristen's style alley.  She certainly worked the dress, with the signature messy hair, smokey eyes and black pumps.

However I can't help but feel that the past few weeks have taken a toll on her (she has been promoting movies and attending the Cannes Film Festival).  Needs some sleep and rest.

Charlize Theron in Lanvin - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Charlize Theron wore a Lanvin Fall 2012 dress to the MTV Movie Awards.

The strapless red dress with a peplum was simple and to the point; she wore it with straight hair and silver Jimmy Choo 'Lance' sandals.

The 'Prometheus' actress has been quite busy with movie promotions over the past few weeks but she hasn't lost her mojo.

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Jennifer Aniston looked hot, as usual, at this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The actress, who won the 'Best On-Screen Dirt-Bag' award for her role in 'Horrible Bosses' was clad in a skin-tight, leather Valentino LBD with a one shoulder.

It's nothing new or exciting but she looked stunning.  We can't see her shoes here but she wore her signature black sandals.

Ellie Kemper in Dolce & Gabbana - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Ellie Kemper wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress to this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The bright, floral print dress with three-quarter sleeves was great on the 'Bridesmaids' actress.  The colour suited her cheerful persona perfectly.

Wavy, long hair, a light green clutch and neon pink Alexander McQueen pumps completed her summery look.

Christina Ricci in Christian Siriano for Timex - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Christina Ricci wore a unique dress to the MTV Movie Awards.

It was a Christian Siriano for Timex dress for her - if your look very closely, this dress features tiny Timex watches along with other embellishments on the bodice.

She looked cute, finishing the look with a smooth updo and black pumps (wish she had worn sandals).

Nikki Reed in Randi Rahm - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Nikki Reed attended the MTV Movie Awards in a golden Randi Rahm dress.

She looked lovely in this delicate, beaded gold dress with short sleeves and a subtle keyhole.

She added softness via the hair style and completed the look with smokey eyes, a leopard print Pierre Hardy clutch (that I adore) and metallic heels.

Julianne Hough in Sally LaPointe - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Julianne Hough wore a black dress from the Sally LaPointe Fall 2012 dress to this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The 'Rock of Ages' star looked good in this full sleeved dress with a laser cut design, a cut out, peplum waist and mini skirt.

However, the styling was so-so, it consisted of poker-straight hair and simple Jimmy Choo peep-toes.  A bold lip colour or shoe were necessary.

2011 MTV Movie Awards

It was an awards weekend! The MTV Movie Awards 2011 took place in LA last night and as usual, lots of members of Young Hollywood were present. Major trends of the night: lots of metallics and bedazzled dresses, prints and textures.

Starting off with the
Gossip Girls!

Leighton Meester chose a sparkly, paillette and mirror adorned Balmain dress, wearing it with some trademark fierce heels. It's a different look for her, what with the highlighted (and longer) hair but she looks great.

Blake Lively stood out (not in the best way) in an electric blue Michael Kors sheath and tall purple Louboutins. I'm not digging this minimal approach, it's too stiff for an event like the MTV Movie Awards.

Jessica Szohr went bold with this 70's inspired printed and flared jumpsuit by Alice + Olivia. I'm not particularly liking this look, maybe a shorter length would have looked better but kudos to her for experimenting!

Katie Cassidy chose a crochet-knit dress, it just looks out of place and uncomfortable no?

Kristen Stewart worked that edgy Balmain mini like no other! Love her confident pose, and look, she's smiling!

Selena Gomez's entire look didn't quite work in my opinion. The Giambattista Valli dress is pretty, however, there was nothing youthful or fun about it and she couldn't quite pull it off without looking like she's trying too hard to look grown up.

The two Emma's looked fabulous!

Emma Stone wore a fun lace and tassle Bottega Venneta dress, accessorising it with the label's famous knot clutch in a vibrant colour and matching dusty orange pumps.

Emma Watson looked lovely in a white Marchesa dress with embellished shoulders, she's wearing platinum Brian Atwoods.

Brooklyn Decker donned a glitzy gold No. 21 dress, wearing it with simple black pumps and keeping everything else simple to let the dress do the talking.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley made a fierce statement in a bold animal-print Dolce & Gabbana dress, wearing it with some cool heels. This particular animal-print is hard to pull off but Rosie manages it just fine, perks of being a supermodel I guess.

Reese Witherspoon, who was honoured with a Generation award wore a fitted animal-print dress by Vivienne Westwood, and looked so great!

Cameron Diaz went safe and once again showed off her legs in a black silk Philip Lim romper, adding her favourite Lanvin heels to finish the look.
