Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga - Cannes Film Festival Day 8

After wearing a chic casual outfit for the photocall of 'On the Road', Kristen Stewart donned something more formal for the premiere of the movie.

She wore a Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere dress.  The custom, halter dress had beautiful embroidery with black accents which included a waist-cinching belt.  The leg split prevented the dress from looking 'too old' for Kristen.

Granted, it's not something we're used to seeing on K.Stew but it was event appropriate and not too girly.

Kristen Stewart in Juicy Couture, Rebecca Minkoff & Balenciaga - 'On the Road' Cannes Photocall

Kristen Stewart has hopped onto another promotional tour, this one for 'On the Road'.

She attended the Cannes Film Festival photocall of her project in three labels.  She paired a plain white Juicy Couture tank and a Rebecca Minkoff blazer with bright yellow and printed Balenciaga pants.

The Balenciaga bit is the interesting one as Kristen is their latest 'face'.  I thought she rocked the ensemble.

Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga - 2012 Met Ball

Kristen Stewart represented Balenciaga at the Met Ball this year.

She wore a colourful cocktail dress from the Fall 2012 collection.  This might be the most comfortable and 'in her element' K. Stew has looked at the Met Ball.

Signature messy hair, almost no make-up and some busy heels were the finishing touches.

Salma Hayek & Kristen Stewart at the Balenciaga Show - Paris Fashion Week

Salma Hayek & Kristen Stewart attended the Balenciaga Fall 2012 showing in Paris.

Salma looked like a complete diva in her rust coloured, relaxed-fit mini with three-quarter sleeves.

She really worked the whole movie-star look with glossy, straight tresses, white hoop earrings, cat-eye sunglasses, a white Balenciaga envelope clutch & matching YSL pumps.  She's also wearing pantyhose but it's hardly visible - bravo.

Kristen Stewart, who is the face of Balenciaga's upcoming perfume also showed up for the Fall presentation.

The actress was cool and comfortable in a printed silk top and leather leggings which she paired with open-toe boots and a collar-less jacket.

Kristen Wiig In Balenciaga - 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Kristen Wiig wore head to toe Balenciaga for the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The pale, halter neck gown with a ruched waist and a flowing train was lovely on Kristen, especially with her sleek side-parted low bun.

But I simply cannot fathom as to why she wore that Fred Leighton choker.  It's thick, unsightly and does not go with her dress at all.  At least her pink Balenciaga clutch was nice.

Jessica Chastain In Balenciaga - 2012 Producers Guild Awards

Jessica Chastain wore a Balenciaga dress to the PGAs.

The shimmery black gown featured spaghetti straps & a mini train.  I would have liked the dress better without the straps since they just seem very 90's to me somehow.

A half-up, half-down hairstyle, and gorgeous jade earrings completed her look.

Jennifer Hudson's 'I Got This..' Book Signing Tour

Jennifer Hudson has been busy, trailblazing across the States promoting her new book called 'I Got This:  How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down'

At a Barnes & Noble bookstore in NYC, Jennifer paired an Azzedine Alaia bodysuit with Theysken's Theory pants and topped the look off with a cool white Haider Ackermann jacket.  The pants are bothering me:  they're way too tight on her, a flared pair would have looked chic and elongated her legs.

Then, at the WeightWatchers office in NYC, Jennifer wore a body-hugging LBD and styled it simply with a poof hairstyle, hoops and red & black cap toe pumps.

At the Good Housekeeping bash, Jennifer wore a chartreuse coloured
Roland Mouret dress with a soft hairstyle but those shoes felt too chunky with that dress;  a simpler and sleeker black/gold sandal would have been a better choice.

Yesterday at The Grove in LA, Jennifer wore a tangerine faux-wrap dress by Balenciaga and styled it with aqua accessories and tan Lanvin sandals.  This is also a great look on her, and that colour is hot this season!

Jessica Chastain In Balenciaga - 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Jessica Chastain switched things up in a Balenciaga gown for the event.

She wore a bubble-gum pink column gown that has a large cowl neck.
The colour is gorgeous on her, the make-up is lovely but I can't say the same about the fit of the dress - it's loose on her bust but also at the bottom.

A sleek updo, Palladium jewelery & Jimmy Choo heels completed her look.

PS.  Doesn't her look remind you of Claire Danes (click here) at last year's Golden Globes

Charlize Theron In Balenciaga - Night Out in LA

Charlize Theron wore a chic Balenciaga dress for a dinner night in LA.

The navy & white dress was jazzed up with a swipe of deep red lipstick.

Retro waves and Reed Krakoff sandals completed her look.

Heidi Klum In Balenciaga

Heidi Klum continued promoting her fragrance, 'Shine', this time in NYC.

The supermodel wore a Balenciaga Fall 2011 design.

While I like the printed dress, I'm not liking the black belt, nor those animal-print, cap-toe Louboutins - they just don't mix.

I do however, like her updo and gold cuff.

Not So Basic Black

Jennifer Aniston's back on the red carpet, doing promo rounds and premieres for her latest comedy, "Horrible Bosses".

And she's back to her favourite colour: black! Although, I have to give her credit for keeping her looks interesting while wearing such a mundane (and in her case, repetitive), colour.

Outside a studio, she wore a lacey LBD with gold jewellery and in general kept the look feminine and girly.

On the red carpet however, she went for minimalism with glitz in the Balenciaga dress - I love it!

Fashion Roundup

Carrie Underwood was at an event held for former US President George W. Bush and was aptly dressed! She looked lovely in a peachy coloured Hervé Leroux gown with her side swept hair and matching accessories.

Cheryl Cole too went the blush colour way in a silk Sass & Bide gown - it's Cheryl at her best! The hair is full of volume, make up perfectly done, the gown looks beautiful on her and I love her animal print clutch!
Miranda Kerr attended the Balenciaga & Spain Gala in San Francisco, CA. She looked absolutely radiant in a full sleeve gown by Balenciaga!

Olivia Munn, at the Humane Society's Genesis Awards wore a vintage floral strapless gown from What Goes Around Comes Around, adding an Elizabeth & James waist-cinching belt. It looks great against her tan and the floral print is so very spring.

Emmy Rossum too went for florals in the form of a sweet Dolce & Gabbana dress which she wore with a black blazer and red heels.

Vanessa Hudgens missed the mark, at the new Nylon magazine issue launch. She wore a white slip dress with a long cardigan. This all looked okay until I looked at her feet. Yikes! The sheer socks with the strappy heels look baaaad.

Whitney Port hosted an event in this assymetrical LBD, she spruced the look up with some fierce leopard print booties.

Keira Knightley exited the theatre in London, in this schoolboy-chic look. She wore separates and finished the look off with a tan saddle bag by Miu Miu and worn-in brogues.

Casual in Paris

Hilary Duff was spotted in Paris this week, she was there to promote her new book. These are three of the semi-formal looks she did while there, and I like all of them. She wears muted shades but adds a pop of colour or texture by way of shoes, earrings or handbag.

In the first look, she paired an olive button down with some skinny blue denims and wore gun-metal patent heels (possiblly YSLs). She was also carrying a pistachio coloured Balenciaga bag.

Those bright yellow flats really add a punch to the otherwise neutral looking second look, I also like her fitted grey trousers.

In the final look, she wore a leather jacket, with an Alexander McQueen skull-print scarf and added some delish green drop-earrings to the ensemble

Critics Choice Awards Style

Awards weekend much? Make that an awards month. The Critics Choice Awards took place in Hollywood last night and here are some of the red carpet looks!

Amy Adams wore a floral blue dress with black peeptoes and put her hair up! So classy. Eva Mendes wore a sheer lace
Valentino Haute Couture dress with nude peeptoes, it's a different style for Eva but she makes it work! Nicole Kidman's navy Nina Ricci gown fell, and fell hard - I like nothing about the look.

Emma Stone brought the pizzazz back in a brilliant Balenciaga gown - the dress looks amazing on her and I'm really starting to like her blonde locks! Mila Kunis also wore a Nina Ricci frock with an asymmetrical hem and added colour via her beaded necklace. Natalie Portman looked wonderful in a Gianfranco Ferre column dress - it hides her baby bump well without looking like a sack.

Emily Blunt's black Azzaro gown fit her beautifully - the only thing missing was her husband John Krasinski! Mandy Moore broke away from the dark monotone colours by wearing a plum coloured Monique Lhuillier gown with lovely earrings. And Michelle Williams continued her winning streak by wearing an unconventional Balenciaga dress in white, with what look like satin Sergio Rossi pumps.

Few trends to take note from this event - asymmetric hemlines or "mullet" hemlines as they're being referred to are hot right now. Also, dark colours seem to be ruling the roost, with most celebrities preferring black, navy, dark purple; although white is also a popular choice. Let's hope the Golden Globes show us some much needed colour!
