Amy Adams in Giambattista Valli - 2012 Met Ball

Amy Adams wore the only Giambattista Valli dress at the Met Gala.

The one-shoulder ivory dress with a velvet bodice, draping and a gold waistband with a bow is from the Spring 2012 couture collection.

It's a pretty dress and Amy looks pretty too. I wish she'd chosen one of the more ballgown type dresses from the collection but I guess that isn't quite Amy's style.

Amy Adams In Vivienne Westwood - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Amy Adams was one of the few ladies who opted for a cocktail dress rather than a full fledged gown at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Amy wore a silver corsetted dress with draping and looked fantastic wearing it.

She also opted for a romantic updo rather than her usual style which added interest and  diamond earrings, and matching peep-toes completed the look.

Amy Adams In Roland Mouret - Vanity Fair & Juicy Couture 'Vanities' Event

Amy Adams wore a Roland Mouret dress to the 'Vanities' 20th Anniversary party held on Monday night.

Amy's not one to take risks, and this black dress with a drapey bust fits well with her aesthetic.

Tumbling locks, graphite earrings & nude pumps were the finishing touches.

Fashion Roundup

Drew Barrymore attended the MoMa Film Benefit wearing a feather-print maxi by Chanel, topped with a bolero jacket.  A simple hairstyle, red lips & a chain-strap bags were the finishing touches.

Amy Adams kept things classy at a book launch, in a metallic, ruched sheath by Dolce & Gabbana - worn with an updo, bright lips and caramel pumps.

Zooey Deschanel worked her quirky vibe, in a vintage dress at the GQ Men Of The Year party, which she wore with sparkly Miu Miu pumps, and her signature tights of course.

Nikki Reed wore a bright yellow Jenni Kayne shirt-dress for the launch of her cover with Seventeen magazine.  She kept things laid back with wavy hair and neutral pumps.

Freida Pinto attended a L'Oreal event in Paris, wearing a rich gold Ralph Lauren dress, worn with a Balmain jacket.  Black flats and an updo completed her chic evening look.

Shailene Woodley wore a floral, sweetheart Dolce & Gabbana frock for the premiere of 'The Descendants' along with satin pumps & a messy updo.

Amy Adams In Roland Mouret - 'Muppets' Premiere

Amy Adams brightened up the green carpet even more, at the 'Muppets' movie premiere in LA.

She wore a Roland Mouret Spring 2012 ensemble consisting of a white, off the shoulder top & a fitted red skirt, minus the bow.

And I'm so happy she's wearing this outfit! See what I mean when I say her hair looks dull with neutral colours?  The red also makes her eyes pop.

Flawless hair & make-up and nude heels completed her look.

Amy Adams In L'Agence

Spotted: Amy Adams at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association press conference in LA.

Amy wore a gorgeous, mauve coloured L'Agence top & tweed pencil skirt combo with grey heels.

It's a perfect formal occassion ensemble without being boring.  Amy wore her hair in tousled waves and opted for neutral make-up.

Amy Adams In Gucci - LACMA's Art & Film Gala

Amy Adams wore a signature, soft coloured gown in the form of this pretty Gucci dress.

I love Amy's hair so I wish she'd wear something other than the nude/blush tones she tends to favour and which I find very dull these days.

She left her hair down in waves and wore neutral make-up.

At the Met Ball!

*Click on the images for a clearer look.

Kirsten Dunst brought her usual kooky (in this case, kind of ugly) in this Chanel frock. It's just not pretty. Neither are those pointy rosette shoes.

Freida Pinto attempted an androgynous look in this silk Chanel gown. It's not particularly Freida's style but she looks good, the red lipstick adds a little something to the entire look.

Kerry Washington stood out in a powder blue Escada gown with cut outs. It looks great on her!

Amy Adams tried a silent-film era look in this L'Wren Scott number. The print is isn't the prettiest and the make up didn't quite work for her, but kudos to her for trying out a different look.

Demi Moore and Ciara both wore Prabal Gurung. Both the dresses had feathered trains (which I'm personally not a fan of) but out of the two, I'm leaning more towards Ciara's icy hued gown.

Elizabeth Banks wore a glitzy golden Tommy Hilfiger gown, with sideswept hair and red lips, nice!

Naomi Watts too wore Stella McCartney, it looks good on her and I like the subtle, sheer part near the bottom of the dress.

Lucy Liu's feathered Vionnet dress was also not a favourite of mine, the feathers' placements are off putting.

Penelope Cruz looked gorgeous in a long trained Oscar de la Renta dress with soft wavy hair and diamonds.
Liv Tyler wore a piece from the lovely Givenchy Couture collection. The swan-inspired dress with a pale neon yellow feathers worked perfectly on her!

Mary Kate Olsen also wore Givenchy. The red and green dress fit in with her boho style but I wish MK would get out of this boho phase already!

The Oscars - Purples & Blues

Hilary Swank, Amy Adams and Marisa Tomei sported dark blue.

I'm not feeling Hilary's feathery Gucci gown, it's too much and the whole feather hem thing is so 2009.

Amy Adams' sparkly cap-sleeve gown by L'Wren Scott evoked old Hollywoo
d, especially with the hair but the emerald and diamonds were a bit of a turn off.

Marisa's dress was a vintage Charles James and it's not my favourite - the hemline is a little too much.

Natalie Portman wore a purple silk-chiffon Rodarte dress with an off-shoulder neckline. This particular shade of purple (more like plum) does wonders for pregnant celebrities! Jessica Alba wore a beautiful Marchesa gown to the Oscars in 2008 in a similar hue. I'm loving those swingy earrings from Tiffany & Co.

Scarlett Johansson wore a lacy Dolce & Gabbana dress with high neck and a drop down back (not pictured) - it's just too much lace for me.

Fashion Roundup

Emmy Rossum attended a pre-Oscar party in a blue patterned halter dress by Dior, I like how the shoes and the pattern on the dress compliment one another.

Jenna Dewan was at a Vanity Fair party in a black strapless dress that she wore with bold accessories and animal-print heels.

Amy Adams looked pretty darn fabulous at two parties, first in a sand coloured Roland Mouret sheath and then in a navy Stella McCartney dress. Amy doesn't exactly take risks, fashion-wise but she always knows what looks good on her and sticks to it.

Malin Akerman was at the Vanity Fair party in a fresh boatneck dress which she wore with a thin yellow belt and opaque tights.

Kirsten Dunst wore a grey, pleated lame dress with tights, the look itself isn't so bad but the eyes I have an issue with - raccoon eyes much?

Jessica Szohr attended a fashion event wearing a dreadful shirt! That print is so 90's.

Isabel Lucas too was at the Vanity Fair event in a rose pink dress which she wore with black flats - it's quite classic and works.

Amber Heard was at the premiere of her movie, "Drive Angry" in a sequined strapless dress by Donna Karan - it looks beautiful on her and I like how she balanced the 'sexiness' of the dress with a longer hemline.

Hilary Duff turned up at the Global Action Awards in a strapless printed gown - I don't quite know what to make of this look as it doesn't really work at all, the print isn't attractive and the bird-feather earrings don't work either.

Milla Jovovich worked a red Temperely London dress with a gold choker and stark black heels - nice!

Lauren Conrad was at the launch of her Paper Crown line in a gorgeous tan semi-casual look - I like every single thing about it!

Diane Kruger was on the red carpet once again in Berlin in a Grecian-inspired Vionnet gown, it's lovely but doesn't exactly fit her in the bust, a better fit was in order. She wore a black and gold dress next, and I have to say, it's not good. It's extremely ill fitting!

Oscars Weekend!

The weekend is heeeere. Numerous parties went down on Friday to kick-off the Oscars.

Natalie Portman wore a simple loose-fitting white dress by H&M (!) with lacy sleeves at an event with gold heels, pretty!

Her "Black Swan" co-star, Mila Kunis wore a simple red Valentino number with a textured black jacket, and matching coffee-coloured heels (Brian Atwoods) and clutch. I love the colour combination going on here.

Kerry Washington was at a luncheon and wore a printed cream cocktail dress by Vivienne Westwood with matching pale heels by the label, very sophisticated.

Amy Adams, vying for a Best Supporting Actress gong wore a jacquard Carolina Herrera dress with black peeptoes and looked so beautiful!

Elizabeth Banks, seen at the opening of Tom Ford's store rocked a cutout black dress by Versace with some turqouise ankle-strap heels.

Michelle Williams wore a bright fuschia design by Louis Vuitton at a party, it's ridiculously cute but maintains a risky touch, with the cutout below the neckline.

The Baftas

Jessica Alba wore a bright blue dress by Versace with a colourful choker and a braided hairdo. I liked how she went for a bold colour instead of mixing in with the pink crowd and the even though the dress is a tad boring, compared to Jess' otherwise adventurous taste it still works.

Emma Stone wore a fresh-off-the-runway Lanvin gown - pink & red are one of the hottest trends of this season and she wore her gown well!

Amy Adams went for a peach coloured Elie Saab dress, I think the colour looks lovely with her hair.

Emma Watson's Valentino gown was a little colourless and her slouchy pose made it look worse; her makeup is spot on though.

Oscars Luncheon

The pre-Oscars luncheon saw a lot of good fashion!

Natalie Portman wore a silk shirt-dress in teal by Lanvin, with pink satin pumps by David Charles and a similar coloured Dior clutch.
Amy Adams, clad in a white Valentino dress looked ever so pretty! She finished off her look with golden Ferregamo heels and a chunky white bracelet.

Michelle Williams went for Chanel, wearing a black silk blouse tucked into a tweed skirt and wore simple black Sergio Rossis - very elegant. Nicole Kidman wore colour! I liked her in the printed silk-chiffon Yves Saint Laurent dress.

Fashion Roundup

Dianna Agron had a high and a low this week in fashion stakes. The outfit she wore for a promotional event for "I Am Number Four" was a little dowdy, I think it's those cowboy-esque boots that are ruining it, some sharp black heels would have elevated the look. She shut it down with her second look though! The swingy black frock, patent black heels and the House of Lavande statement pendant make for an incredibly elegant look.
Natalie Portman wore the Michael Kors asymmetrical hem gown with the gold accents at the Directors Guild Awards - it's similar to her look for the Critics Choice Awards but it works! Why fix something that's not broken?

Dita Von Teese looked great in a shimmery peach
dress by Jenny Packham- lovin' the 50's inspired look.
Claire Danes was also at the Directors Guild Awards, in a tight black Roland Mouret sheath - it was a little unexpected from her but she's working it.

Amy Adams perfected the nude trend with this soft chiffon dress, with saffron coloured peeptoes.
Also, how gorgeous does her hair look!

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a kitschy wrap jacket over a black skirt - I like the jacket, just think that it would have looked better with simple denims.

Kate Walsh wore a bright red Anita Ko dress at her perfume launch - she looked great!

Screen Actors Guild Awards - The White Trend

The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Hollywood last night, and the glitterati of the movies were dressed up to the nines. *Click on the images for a clearer look

Here's one of the strong trends of the night, in terms of fashion. White and pale grey gowns were very popular.
Amy Adams wore a sleek Hervé Leroux gown in white - loved her entire look! Eva Longoria wore a pale eggshell coloured gown by Georges Hobeika, and despite the low cut neckline, she looked very elegant. Best Actress winner Natalie Portman wore a white Azzaro gown with reportedly $2 million worth of Tiffany & Co jewelery!

Naya Rivera of Glee wore a pale grey slinky gown by Aurelio Costarella, love the way she kept things minimal. Winona Ryder's Alberta Ferretti gown looked very bridal and I'm not a fan of the tacky looking black purse she's carrying. Better posing and a simple clutch would have done wonders for her look!

Of Black & White

A lot of movie events saw a slew of black and white dresses at the weekend. And it goes to show once again, that you can never go wrong with a Little Black Dress.

Amy Adams wore a long sleeved, bejeweled dress with black peeptoes, this design with the power shoulders would have been boring on someone like Kim Kardashian but on Amy it was a welcome surprise. Mandy Moore was in London, for the premiere of the animated flick
"Tangled" - she wore a simple strapless LBD but punched up the look with an ornate necklace and bright red satin Charlotte Olympia pumps.

*Up
date - Mandy Moore's dress is from Paul Ka, Amy is in Andrew Gn.

Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly were at the NYC premiere of their movie "The Roommate". And Leighton totally rocked this dramatic gown with the leather top & cutouts by Michael Kors, love everything about her look. Co-star Minka Kelly went opposite, by wearing a soft, pale hued dress and adding beige heels to complete the look; lovin' her fishtail braid too.

PS. Anyone notice
d how similar Minka & Leighton look?! Could be twins. Just sayin'.

Kate Bosworth wore a surprisingly similar dress as Leighton at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival in cold Utah. The dress is by Chloé and her shoes are by Isabel Marant, sure the tights would normally look unecessary with this dress but I can't blame Kate for wearing them! It's always freeeezing at Sundance so she just came prepared! The lovely Emily Blunt was in Hollywood for her new film, called "Gnomeo & Juliet" (animation movie). She looked very elegant in a white Zac Posen number, worn with nude peeptoes.

Golden Globes - Other Trends

Here are some of the other trends that were seen on the red carpet at the 2011 Golden Globes.

*Click on the pictures for a clearer look

Blue was a major colour of the evening. Mandy Moore wore
Monique Lhuillier again and it worked again! Although I wish she'd put her hair up so we could see the gauzy one shoulder. Amber Riley's glittery Oliver Tolentino dress made her look like a total diva, but I was not a fan of Jenna Uschkowitz' cornflower blue Rebecca Taylor gown, it seemed very ordinary. Amy Adams was elegance personified in a navy Marchesa dress.

Black also made its presence felt; Jayma Mays wore Alberta Ferretti but I hated the hair and make up, the eyes especially! Julia Stiles showed up on the red carpet after a long time in a Ramona Keveza gown (kinda similar to Mandy Moore's) but I was left a little disappointed with Halle Berry's black Nina Ricci dress, it was from the 2008 collection and I don't understand why she didn't go with something from the current collection. It's not as if the 2008 dress was jaw-droppingly amazing or anything...

Green was seen on both Angelina Jolie (in Atelier Versace), Mila Kunis (in Vera Wang) & Catherine Zeta Jones (pictured) who walked with husband Michael Douglas (who's recovering after battling throat cancer) in a forest green Monique Lhuillier confection. The colour looked great on her and I liked the way she wore her hair, it made her look almost regal.

More neutral shade wearers - Heather Morris in a very pale gold Lorena Sabu number, Naya Rivera in a strapless pale pink Douglas Hannant column dress and Scarlett Johansson in a sparkly Elie Saab dress that seemed to almost meld with her skin! Not a fan of Scarlett's hairstyle though.

Critics Choice Awards Style

Awards weekend much? Make that an awards month. The Critics Choice Awards took place in Hollywood last night and here are some of the red carpet looks!

Amy Adams wore a floral blue dress with black peeptoes and put her hair up! So classy. Eva Mendes wore a sheer lace
Valentino Haute Couture dress with nude peeptoes, it's a different style for Eva but she makes it work! Nicole Kidman's navy Nina Ricci gown fell, and fell hard - I like nothing about the look.

Emma Stone brought the pizzazz back in a brilliant Balenciaga gown - the dress looks amazing on her and I'm really starting to like her blonde locks! Mila Kunis also wore a Nina Ricci frock with an asymmetrical hem and added colour via her beaded necklace. Natalie Portman looked wonderful in a Gianfranco Ferre column dress - it hides her baby bump well without looking like a sack.

Emily Blunt's black Azzaro gown fit her beautifully - the only thing missing was her husband John Krasinski! Mandy Moore broke away from the dark monotone colours by wearing a plum coloured Monique Lhuillier gown with lovely earrings. And Michelle Williams continued her winning streak by wearing an unconventional Balenciaga dress in white, with what look like satin Sergio Rossi pumps.

Few trends to take note from this event - asymmetric hemlines or "mullet" hemlines as they're being referred to are hot right now. Also, dark colours seem to be ruling the roost, with most celebrities preferring black, navy, dark purple; although white is also a popular choice. Let's hope the Golden Globes show us some much needed colour!
