Claire Danes In Valentino - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Claire Danes resembled a life-size doll in her Valentino Pre-Fall 2012 gown.

The über romantic gown with a rose-printed tulle bodice and a ruffled skirt may look pink from the pictures, but it's actually a sweet red colour.

Claire was the last person I would have imagined wearing this dress (I was hoping Shailene Woodley would) as she tends to prefer simple, classic silhouettes.  However, she totally knocked it out of the park.

A simple updo and pink lips let the dress remain the centre of attention.

Amy Adams In Vivienne Westwood - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Amy Adams was one of the few ladies who opted for a cocktail dress rather than a full fledged gown at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Amy wore a silver corsetted dress with draping and looked fantastic wearing it.

She also opted for a romantic updo rather than her usual style which added interest and  diamond earrings, and matching peep-toes completed the look.

Kate Bosworth In Prabal Gurung - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Lucky Kate Bosworth became the first celebrity to wear a dress from the Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 collection.

Needless to say, I love this beautiful, magnificent tulle LBD with beading.

Kate wore it with a simple bun, glowing make-up - she didn't need any jewelery as the dress sparkles from all angles.

My only complain is that she wore really ordinary black pumps - the Prabal Gurung for Nicholas Kirkwood sandals from the runway would have been a more interesting choice.

Zoe Saldana In Marios Schwab - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Zoe Saldana wore a Marios Schwab Fall 2012 gown for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The midnight blue satin dress had sheer shoulders and a flowing skirt. The jeweled collar adds sparkle to the dress.

I feel like Zoe is the best candidate to really pull of this dress as she brings her own touch.  She finished her look with wavy hair, red lips, a Judith Leiber clutch and Giuseppe Zannoti heels.

Shailene Woodley In Proenza Schouler - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Shailene Woodley changed into a Proenza Schouler Spring 2012 dress for the Vanity Fair party after the Oscars.

I wish she'd worn something like this for the actual ceremony (click here to see what she wore), as the colourful, floral dress is fun and fresh despite having full sleeves.

She kept her hair and make-up the same but changed into gorgeous charteuse pumps.

Kate Hudson In Versace - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

The vibrant Kate Hudson made an appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The blonde actress wore a red vintage Versace dress that had beading and a fringed skirt.  It also had an illusion neckline that was really visible in close-ups.

Selena Gomez In Dolce & Gabbana - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Selena Gomez dressed up in a Dolce & Gabbana gown at the post Oscar Vanity Fair event.

The low cut silver gown with embellishments was simply gorgeous on Selena and I'm in love with her hair, earrings and make-up.

Emma Stone In Chanel - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Emma Stone changed into a Chanel Fall 2011 Couture gown for the Vanity Fair after party.

The black, chiffon gown with layers and a flared west was great on Emma and I love how her gold heels are visible.

Ginnifer Goodwin In Peter Som - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Ginnifer Goodwin attended the Vanity Fair party in a Peter Som Fall 2012 dress.

This gauzy LBD with a peplum was one of my favourites from his collection but I can't say that I love it on Ginnifer.

It's because of the overload of accessories - the earrings & necklace feel like an afterthought.

The clutch, and shoes are pretty nice though.

Olivia Wilde In Gucci - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Olivia Wilde and Gucci make for a fabulous combination.

The actress wore her second Gucci Pre-Fall 2012 look in the space of a few days, at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

She wore the strapless black column gown with a dragonfly belt.  The dragonfly belts were my favourite aspect of Gucci's Pre-Fall collection, and obviously Olivia thought the same.

She wore her hair up in a bun to show off a thin gold choker, wore two gold bracelets and carried a black lined gold clutch.

Kate Beckinsale In Atelier Versace - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Kate Beckinsale was a complete glamazon at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The actress wore an Atelier Versace Fall 2011 dress that featured a sequined floral print and gauze lined cutouts.

Kate has been changing things up a lot lately, and actually makes this dress work despite it not being a solid coloured gown.

Wavy hair, Chopard earrings and a black clutch completed her look.

Olivia Munn In Calvin Klein - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

It was a Calvin Klein dress for Olivia Munn, at the Vanity Fair do.

It's not that I don't like the dress, I just don't like it on Olivia.

Party because it's ill-fitting (it sits weirdly on the bust) but also because the colour matches her skin tone a little too much.

However, props to her for keeping the bling and accessories minimal.

Salma Hayek In Yves Saint Laurent - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Salma Hayek wore a custom Yves Saint Laurent to the Oscar After-Party thrown by Vanity Fair.

One word: stunning

The colour of the silk mousseline dress is simply stunning on her, and I love that she wore her hair in a tousled fishtail braid.  The soft, off-shoulder detail of the dress works perfectly with her accessories, make-up and hair.

Mia Wasikowska In Antonio Berardi - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Mia Wasikowska wore an Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 gown to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The grey and black dress is visually interesting, with the wave of embellishments and pleating near the waist.

But as always, Mia is giving us no personality.  She really needs a lesson in red carpet posing.

Rashida Jones In Elie Saab - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Rashida Jones attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party in an Elie Saab Spring 2012 gown.

After her brilliant look at the Indies (click here), Rashida impressed once more in this chartreuse gown with a plunging neckline, subtle pleats, lace on the shoulders and a leather belt.

The colour is gorgeous, especially when teamed with the bright pink lipstick.

Abbie Cornish In Tommy Hilfiger - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Abbie Cornish wore a red Tommy Hilfiger gown to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The boat neck gown with a scoop back was one of the three red gowns at the event.

Abbie wore it with side swept hair, Neil Lane jewelery and a Ferregamo clutch.

Elizabeth Banks In Chadwick Bell - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Elizabeth Banks wore a seriously fun dress at the Vanity Fair Oscar after party.

The Chadwick Bell dress has a lot going on: full sleeves, bright colours, polka dot, feathered train - but somehow it all works just perfectly.

This isn't something you'd find at an Awards red carpet or movie premiere but it was just right for an after party where the mood is laid-back.

An updo and Bulgari jewels completed her look.

Diane Kruger In Calvin Klein - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Diane Kruger turned heads at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday night.

The German beauty wore a red gown from the Calvin Klein collection. But it was hardly just a red dress - there was a plunging neckline, low back and a lace underlay that looked like a bra.

Credit to Diane for pulling this off but her hair is really bothering me - those roots are just unavoidable.

Felicity Jones In Johana Johnson - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

At the Vanity Fair Oscar after party, Felicity Jones wore a leather gown by Australian designer Johana Johnson.

This was the only leather dress at the event, so it definitely stood out.  However, it's too plain for the occasion (despite being leather) and her styling isn't doing much to change that.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley In Antonio Berardi - Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Rosie Huntington Whiteley wore an Antonio Berardi Spring 2012 gown for this year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The fire-engine red dress with cap sleeves and a portrait neckline fit her like a glove, and I like how she left the look very simple.

Centre parted hair and a metallic round Jimmy Choo clutch were enough.
