2012 Women in Film Crytsal + Lucy Awards

The 2012 Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards took place in Beverley Hills last night.

Chloe Moretz wore an off-shoulder black satin cocktail dress by Max Mara and looked super cute, especially because of the black headband.  Chloe hardly ever disappoints in the shoe section - she wore Rupert Sanderson sandals.

Jenna Dewan wore a Max Mara jumpsuit with a halter neck accompanied by a yellow clutch.  The hair is killing this look for me.

Meryl Streep was elegant in a long sleeved, ivory Max Mara dress with a black waist band but Viola Davis looked sexy in a strapless black Max Mara dress.

Meryl Streep in Valentino - 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award Ceremony

Meryl Streep wore a Valentino Spring 2012 Couture top & skirt to the AFI Award Ceremony for Shirley MacLaine.

The legendary actress looked beautiful in this summery ensemble of a lace shirt and floral print skirt.  A ponytail and natural make-up completed her look.

Meryl Streep In Lanvin - 2012 Oscars

Meryl Streep went for gold, in an eco-friendly Lanvin gown.  She also took home the Oscar for Best Actress, which makes her a true winner.

The wrap dress with full sleeves was cinched in at the waist with a gold rope and looked like liquid gold.

Meryl wore her hair up, put on matching earrings and wore Ferregamo peep-toes.

Meryl Streep In Vivienne Westwood - 2012 BAFTAs

Meryl Streep took the the red carpet at this year's BAFTAs in a Vivienne Westwood gown.

The strapless gown with a sexy, corsetted bodice and a train was just that: sexy. I'm just disappointed to see that sparkly bolero on her, otherwise loving this look.

Meryl Streep In Vivienne Westwood - 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Meryl Streep who lost out on the Best Actress award at the SAGs to Viola Davis, wore a dress by Vivienne Westwood for the event.

The draping, and the cinched in belt are the only two things I like about this dress because the colour is drab, and the grey pantyhose, and open-toed sandals are just awful.

2012 Golden Globes - Black

Rooney Mara wore black, as was expected.  The Best Actress (Drama) nominee wore a Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2012 gown.  The plunge-neck tulle bodice & long column skirt were simple yet perfect for the scale of the event.  Rooney chose to sweep back her bangs and wore very less make-up.

Debra Messing wore a taffeta, one-shoulder dress by Monique Lhuillier, choosing to add colour via her fabulous Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Kate Winslet went for colour block in a gorgeous, silk dress by Jenny Packham.  The key-hole top & white skirt were punched up with a gold embellished waist belt.   Kate wore her hair in an updo and added gold earrings by Fred Leighton & carried an embellished clutch.

Julianne Moore left behind her crazy dress sense and opted instead, for this strapless, Chanel gown that has a peplum silhouette (tad unnecessary).  She wore her hair in shiny waves and added green tasseled earrings (an emerging trend & gorgeous with her hair colour).

Mila Kunis, who's the new face of Miss Dior, wore a classic gown from the Christian Dior Spring 2012 collection.  Compared to her efforts last year, this felt a little bland.  But then she was only presenting so it's fair.  She put her hair in a sleek bun and wore Cartier jewels.

Salma Hayek looked beautiful in a Gucci Premiere gown.  The strapless dress had a bedazzled bodice and a shimmery pleated skirt.  Salma kept her hair down, in tousled waves,  wore a neutral lip colour, gold statement earrings and carried a mini satin clutch.

Zooey Deschanel was a pleasant surprise in a custom Prada dress.  The 'New Girl' actress, who was nominated in the Best Actress in a TV Series (Comedy) was delightful in the unusual black satin dress that had lime green and silver beading.  A glossy, retro hairstyle and pink lips completed her look.

Claire Danes wore a custom J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2012 gown which according to the Best Actress in a TV Series award winning actress, was "all about the back".  And rightly so, the backless monochromatic gown was bang on trend with all that embellishment.  Claire went with a messy bun (which we rarely see on her) and red lips which were nice changes.

Meryl Streep, who won the Best Actress (Drama) award for 'Iron Lady' wore a black shirt dress with lace & a taffeta skirt - all by Alessandra Rich.  She looks elegant.  And can do no wrong.

Meryl Streep In Stella McCartney - 'Iron Lady' European Premiere

Meryl Streep attended the premiere of 'Iron Lady' in London, wearing a 

Stella McCartney Fall 2011 dress and looking amazing as always.

The black dress with a v-neck and balloon sleeves looks plain and simple on the runway but Ms. Streep added interest & colour, via the amazing gold neck-piece and the striped blue coat.

Anne Hathaway & Olivia Wilde - 'Iron Lady' Premiere

It was a very prosaic affair at the premiere of the amazing Meryl Streep's movie, 'Iron Lady'.

Anne Hathaway wore a mid-length black dress that had a high-neck and a bow at the waist.  I understand she wanted to look serious but this was so unimaginative.  Even if she'd let loose the stiff bun, it would have made a big difference.

Olivia Wilde too went for a tea-length black dress - hers by Dolce & Gabbana.  Even though it was black, the shape & details were interesting.  Olivia wore it with animal-print pumps.
