Shailene Woodley & Zoe Saldana - Armani Privé Fall 2012 Couture Presentation

Shailene Woodley attended her first ever Haute Couture Week show in Paris yesterday; she was joined by Zoe Saldana for the evening.

Shailene looked grown-up and elegant in a cream jacket and black pants, which made her look even more statuesque. I loved her fresh-faced look and as usual she opted for no accessories, the finishing touches included a bun and starppy heels.

Zoe Saldana was adorable in a glimmering salmon pink dress.  Wavy locks, smokey eyes, clutch and black peep-toes completed her look.

Jessica Chastain in Armani Privé - Cannes Film Festival Day 3

Jessica Chastain wore an Armani Privé dress on the third day of the Cannes Film Festival, as she attended the premiere of 'Madagascar 3'.

She looked mighty pretty, in a strapless white chiffon dress with a sequined bust.  It was a light and soft look, quite different from the edgy looks that we've been seeing this year.

Side swept curls, and bold red lips added the final touch and uplifted her look.

Ellie Kemper In Armani Privé - 2012 Oscars

Ellie Kemper dazzled at the 2012 Oscars in a strapless Armani Privé gown.

The actress described the colour of her pailette covered dress as 'rust' but quickly changed that to 'glittering rust', which Ryan Seacrest then changed into 'Hollywood rust'.

To me, the dress seems fiery and full of energy.  I love her Lorraine Schwartz earrings, and Ferregamo clutch but the thick, blunt bangs covering her forehead are so unfortunate.

Jessica Chastain In Armani Privé - 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Jessica Chastain, in an Armani Privé Spring 2012 Couture skirt-suit disappointed me.

At the beach-side event, where celebs have fun with fashion, Jessica wore this serious black skirt-suit with lime green piping.

An updo and Giuseppe Zannoti heels finished her look.

Penelope Cruz In Armani Privé - 2012 BAFTAs

Penelope Cruz made a surprise appearance at the BAFTAs in an Armani Privé  gown.

The wine colour is just spectacular on her olive skintone & chocolate brown eyes however, the back of the dress is a little strange and makes the dress look like a container of sorts.

A chic ponytail and stunning Chopard jewels completed her look.

Jessica Alba In Armani Privé

Jessica Alba pulled a stunner at the Armani Hotel Milano opening in Italy.

She wore separates by Armani Privé (Fall 2011).

The spaghetti strap, backless velvet top was paired with a midi skirt that has an oriental border.

I was very impressed with her bronzed look, which included cat eyes, a nude lip and a chic bun.  And how gorgeous is that ruby cocktail ring?

Olivia Does Couture Week

The lovely Olivia Palermo attended most shows in Paris and as always, all of her ensembles very spot on!

Whether it's the bright, printed dress or the sheer black Valentino dress, she did not disappoint. I especially love how the seemingly out of place fur clutch seems so in sync with the blue dress!

During the Armani Privé show, she chose a more structured outfit made out of monochromatic separates.

Couture Love

Spotted: Cate Blanchett & Katie Holmes at the Armani Privé couture show in Paris.

I love Cate's red, sculpted dress - it's head to toe red but somehow works.

Katie wore all black, I think it's a little inappropriate, weather-wise, but I like how she wore those snakeskin heels to add interest to her look.

Meanwhile, Olivia Palermo was seen in a gorgeous chiffon yellow Topshop dress at the Giambattista Valli show. As usual, Olivia takes the dress a step forward through her mix and match accessories and that plexiglas Charlotte Olympia clutch is superb!

A Last Few from Cannes

The official award ceremony took place at the Cannes Film Festival, end of the red carpet for this year.

Jury member Uma Thurman didn't wear white! She chose this cobalt high neck Armani Privé gown - she looks almost regal.

Kirsten Dunst looked ever so pretty in a frothy Chanel confection, I love this high drama dress but the choice of footwear put me off; simple peeptoes would have sufficed.

Gwen Stefani, on an earlier night, looked fierce in an Armani Privé dress with black straps and bow cutouts. She wore smokey eye make up and her trademark red lipstick.

Rosario Dawson wore a red mermaid tail Roberto Cavalli dress, but it was a little too tight in the bust.

The Pirates Invade Spain

Penelope Cruz was spotted in her home country, Spain, promoting the latest "Pirates" movie.

At the photocall, she wore a halter-neck navy jumpsuit by Hakaan which was flattering but maybe the length was a little too long?

It was back to black for her, in Armani Privé at the premiere; she manages to look classy despite the plunge neck.

Auf Wiedersehen Cannes

Spotted: Penelope Cruz in Germany for the latest "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" premiere.

I love
d this futuristic Armani Privé dress on her - the colour goes well with her brown eyes and hair and it's a break from those feathery Marchesa numbers.

Cannes Day 6

Brangelina (I hate that moniker but I'm still using it) landed on the red carpet, for Brad's movie "The Tree of Life". Angelina wore a chocolate brown gown by Atelier Versace (who else?); the colour isn't too attractive and honestly, neither is the design. This could be just another cheesy prom gown no? Also, the plain hair isn't working and needs a good brushing and some shine!

Bra
d's facial hair, I don't like.

Gwen Stefani posed confidently in a currently on trend sparkly jumpsuit by Stella McCartney. The teased hair and smokey make up work well!

Zoe Saldana looked lovely in an Armani Privé dress, doesn't it remind you of peppermint candy?

Clemence Poesy played with colours in her lavender Yves Saint Laurent dress worn with electric blue peeptoes but the messy hair let the look down.

Cannes Day 2

The premiere of "Sleeping Beauty" & "Restless" took place on day two of the Cannes Film Festival and the red carpet turnout was splendid.

I was wondering whether Diane Kruger had been invited this year, and was fervently hoping that she was. Thank the fashion gods, she was invited and as always did not disappoint. The shimmery Calvin Klein gown almost looks like liquid gold! Love the red lip and messy hair do too.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan worked that Armani Priv
é gown like no one's business! She wore a geometric cuff and wore her hair in a high top knot.

Rachel McAdams got bored of those elaborate red carpet gowns and went for this gold/tan Monique Lhuillier outfit consisting of an embellished bustier top and high waisted bottoms. Opinions may be divided on this look but I'm going for a like!

Alexa Chung wore a structured white dress with black heels, it's a pretty simple look... a little too simple actually.

Mia Wasikowska wore a deep red Roland Mouret dress with dangly diamond earrings - a clean, simple look again but I wish she'd have some fun considering her age, this look is too rigid.

Vanessa Hudgens surprised me by turning up at a Calvin Klein party. She looked good in a lime green asymmetric dress with white heels from the label; the colour pops against her skin and I'm glad she left her "messy" look at home.

Aishwarya Rai attended a photocall for a recently announced movie, called "Heroine" in a great day look! She wore a tan trench dress from Lanvin with black heels from the label.

The Oscars - Warm Hues

Red was back in business at this year's Oscars!

Sandra Bullock pulled all stops in a gorgeous red taffeta gown by Vera Wang, she looks incredible.

Anne Hathaway looked breathtaking in a vintage Valentino gown, the soft hairdo, matte red lips, diamonds... they all combine to make her look absolutely stunning!

Jennifer Hudson's orange Atelier Versace gown was certainly bright. I have issues with her chest area.

Aishwarya Rai wore Armani Priv
é Fall 2010- the chocolate brown gown, bedazzled with pailletes looks better on the runway than in person though. I would've loved to see her in Elie Saab to be honest.

The Oscars - Monochrome

White/shimmery pale white was also prominent at this year's Oscars.

Michelle Williams personified the words 'poised' and 'elegant' in a column gown from Chanel Haute Couture, her pixie haircut went perfectly with the minimalistic look.

Nicole Kidman in a white, panelled Dior gown was a disappointment, especially after her fabulous turnout at this year's Grammys. The colour doesn't suit her already pale, porcelain skin and the hair isn't working either. Also, those red peeptoes are majorly distracting.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a lame gown by Calvin Klein and added a brooch near her waist to add a twist. The poker straight hair works well with the style of the dress but Gwynnie looks her best in soft, romantic looks and this is far too 'futuristic'.

Celine Dion chose Armani Priv
é, from the F/F collection, it's age appropriate and works well.

Reese Witherspoon went for a simple Giorgio Armani column gown but changed up her hair by adding volume and a ponytail, it doesn't suit her entirely but I admire her for changing it up. Love the drop earrings.

Fashion Roundup

*Click on the images for a clearer look.

Heidi Klum looked wonderful at an event in Germany, she wore a blue
Rachel Roy sheath which she paired with some chunky nude heels. Chanel darling Diane Kruger was seen in a fresh-of-the-runway frock in a baby pink colour; I'm loving the construction of the dress, it's fun yet elegant. Kerry Washington went for a Hervé Leger creation in a pale peach shade, she looks really great in it.

Olivia Wilde took in the Armani Privé show at the Paris Fashion Week and wore a low cut sparkly number from the label. Once again, no flaws to be found! Jessica Alba exited the Gucci store in Paris wearing this flirty floral skirt which she paired with some seriously fierce black booties. Thandie Newton looked all cool and collected in an aqua print Jonathan Saunders dress, the black Lulu Guinness lips clutch and white peeptoes really enhance the look.
Reese Witherspoon, while at an Avon event wore this lovely Jason Wu dress, it looks great on her and the colour is refreshing. Whitney Port wore this vintage Thierry Mugler dress at a L'Oreal event in NYC. Her shiny locks and the shiny pailletes on this dress make for a fab combo. Kim Kardashian's casual look was beautiful! I loved how she played with tan, gold and neutral shades without looking like an eye-sore... also, she seems to be make-up free! Hallelujah!

Golden Globes - The Neutral/Pink Trend

While colour was very much back in town for the Golden Globes, pale pinks & neutral shades were also strongly present. *Click on the images for detail.

Megan Fox looked lovely in a soft candy pink Armani Privé gown with an asymmetrical strap and slit; the colour really makes her eye pop. Leighton Meester didn't go to too hard core with her edginess, but wore an interesting design nonetheless. The watercolour print dress from Burberry Prorsum looked good on her frame, and her hair & make-up were spot on. She is wearing Jimmy Choo platforms.

Jennifer Lopez went with a white Zuhair Murad dress, embellished with lots of crystals - a trademark of the label. She looked great but my one pick would be the eye make-up, she should've gone softer with her approach to it. Michelle Williams wore something unusual (very usual for her) - her daisy-adorned Valentino dress looks absolutely fabulous on her & I love her makeup! The heavily made up eyes and coral lip colour look incredible.

Claire Danes wore a simple pink Calvin Klein design but made the look interesting by adding a gold wrist cuff by Fred Leighton. Nicole Kidman didn't wear navy! Instead, she opted for this cream Prada dress with a one-shoulder. If she had done something with the hair, it would would have taken this look up a notch.

Sandra Bullock was back on the red carpet, after a tumultuous year in her personal life. She looked great in a pale pink Jenny Packham dress with gold embroidery, she was sporting a new hairstyle too! First time Golden Globe walker Emma Stone took a leaf out of the Diane Kruger lookbook by wearing a peach hued Calvin Klein gown, she accessorised with ear-studs and a gold clutch (Calvin Klein).

Dianna Agron looked absolutely stunning in her nude J Mendel dress, which she wore with Cathy Waterman jewelery - I think it's the hairstyle that does it for her, it frames her face beautifully and it helps that her make up is picture perfect too! Lea Michele looked pretty in pink. She went with her favourite, Oscar de la Renta and added colour via her bright turquoise ring - I'm loving her soft wavy hairdo too.

Golden Globes 2011 - The Dramatic Gowns

The much, much-awaited Golden Globes Awards took place last night in Hollywood. Here are my favourite "drama" gowns - ones that pack a visual punch within a second!

Olivia Wilde, how do I love your red carpet looks? There's no limit. She once again brought the glamour to the red carpet in a strapless, sparkly chocolate brown ombre ballgown, she left her hair down, to bring in some balance and add a modern touch to the princess-style of the
Marchesa gown.

Anne Hathaway knows how to wear her Armani Privé, and she knows it well. I loved her amber hued gown, covered in Swarovski crystals & pailletes. I also loved the dramatic back-drop!

Eva Longoria tried something different this year, by wearing a black Zac Posen gown with covered shoulders and a dramatic hem! Her petite figure really stands out in this design.

Angelina Jolie not wearing black/grey/white? That's a total lie! Actually... no. Angelina wore an emerald green gown by her recently go-to label, Atelier Versace. It's a similar look to Anne's, what with the crystals and sparkles but I'm just happy to see Angelina in something colourful.

Natalie Portman looked as sweet as a rose in her pink and red Viktor & Rolf gown. I love how feminine the gown looks, it suits her down to a T! Also lovin' her Tiffany & Co necklace, it adds dimension to the look. She was carrying a red Dior clutch and wearing Stella McCartney heels.

January Jones, of Mad Men went with Versace. No surprise there, seeing as she's modelled their designs for ad campaigns recently. Her dress was definitely risky but she made it work by managing to look classy, cool and composed. She wore black patent pumps by Versace.

Mila Kunis looked gorgeous in a deep green Vera Wang gown. What I like about this dress is how the material adds so much depth and dimension to the dramatic design, and the shade of the gown looks great against Mila's skintone.
