Models at the 2012 Met Ball

Gisele Bundchen is always one to watch at the Met Ball.  This year she wore a slinky black Givenchy dress with embellishments.  A slicked back bun and fresh-make up were all she needed.

Doutzen Kroes always brings her A-game to the Met Ball.  She has done the princess-style ballgown thing a number of times.  This year she wore a great black and white Roland Mouret dress with wavy hair and red lips.

Karlie Kloss accompanied Jason Wu in a sweet pink chiffon and lace dress which showcased her amazing height.

Coco Rocha was a bit of surprise - she wore a vintage Givenchy pant suit, originally worn by Elizabeth Taylor.  She did work this bright ensemble, completed with pink-tipped hair and satin heels.

Candice Swanepoel looked amazing in a custom Rag & Bone dress - the cobalt blue was stunning against her blonde hair, blue eyes and glowing tan.  Here she is with the label's David Neville and Marcus Wrainwright.

Chanel Iman was Tom Ford's date and wore a full sleeved, high-neck number from his Fall 2012 collection.  It's dramatic but didn't suit Chanel's youthful persona.

Karolina Kurkova just killed it on the red carpet.  She wore a Rachel Zoe dress with blush sequins and also wore a matching turban - this is what we expect to see at the Met Gala.

Anne V, Adam Levine's ex-girlfriend attended the event in a shimmery blue Prada dress with a micro glass beaded fringe.  I thought she looked great, especially with the bouffant bun.

Jessica Stam wore a Christian Dior dress.  While I liked her powder blue peplum dress, the jet black hair doesn't suit her at all.

Milla Jovovich wore a Prada dress.  The red and black satin dress with a fringed skirt was a good look for her.

Fashion Roundup

Jennifer Lopez changed into a silver Emilio Pucci mini with full sleeves, at the AMA after party - legs!

Gemma Arterton attended an awards night in London, in a studded Balmain top, leather bottoms & a Viktor & Rolf tuxedo jacket.  The clutch matched the top, way to make a statement.

Heidi Klum launched her jewellery line at a Beverley Hills hotel wearing a crisp white button-down with an animal-print pencil skirt and patterned heels.

Sofia Vergara wore a Roberto Cavalli mini at a party, with gold accessories.  I wish she'd not carried that clutch, it's an awkward size.

Miranda Kerr walked around NYC looking super chic in leather pants, a grey peacoat worn with a printed scarf.  She wore comfy black flats and carried her favourite burgundy Celine tote.

Gisele Bundchen promoted a shampoo line in Brazil wearing a white sheath, with a black jacket and pumps - her hair was the centre of attraction, which was appropriate seeing she was promoting a shampoo brand.

Of Beautiful Dresses

I know this post seems a little random but I just had to write about and the Duchess of Cambridge, Jessica Alba, and Gisele Bundchen and their looks at their respective events. Their dresses were absolutely beautiful!

The Duchess stole the show (seen here along with her husband, Prince William) in a shimmery, rose-coloured Jenny Packham dress. The perfectly blow-dried hair, the smile, all very immaculate as always!

Jessica Alba attended an event in California in a summer white Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she accessorised with a gold clutch, a diamond bracelet and drop earrings; not sure why she wore hair extensions though.

Gisele worked the red carpet in a dazzling Oscar de la Renta gown, the pink belt at the waist adds the signature sweet Oscar de la Renta touch to this dress. She let the dress do the talking by keeping everything else simple.

Fashion Roundup

Emma Watson was seen in Paris, wearing a layered monochromatic Azzaro Frock with black pumps - cute!

Ashley Greene looked lovely at the premiere of "Skateland" in an asymmetrical, light pink Fendi dress which she wore with loose, tousled locks and carried a gold tweed clutch. The bright pink nail polish is a nice touch.

Sarah Jessica Parker was seen in NYC, at the Robin Hood Gala with big hair! I think she thought to add drama to the simple indigo Halston gown by way of the hairstyle but I'm not loving the result.

Gwyneth Paltrow thought of nabbing attention at the National Movie Awards held in London in this black plunge neck Roksanda Illicinic number. It's just a trying-too-hard-to-look-cool look, the dead-looking hair doesn't help matters.

Gisele Bundchen Brady was also at the Robin Hood Gala in NYC in a lace and tweed Emanuel Ungaro dress. She wore her hair in a high bun and added colour through the lipstick, she is wearing Louboutin stilettos.

At another event, she was spotted in a form-fitting Victoria Beckham sheath. Let's be honest, she's the world's top supermodel, she could wear a sack and look good. (Not jealous at all...)

Rachel Bilson, fresh from her trip to France for the Chanel show, was seen at the designer, Derek Lam's store opening in a floral maxi from the designer, which she wore with a statement necklace and white clutch.

Freida Pinto was in London, at the opening of the Nicholas Kirkwood flagship store. She wore a colourful Peter Pilotti sheath with bright orange peeptoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. I like this dress, the sashes of white fabric balance the brightness.

At The Met Ball!

*Click on the images for a clearer look.

The annual Metrpolitan Museum Costume Gala took place last night in NYC, this event is pretty much the Oscars of the fashion worl
d so I was excited to see the turn out, and I wasn't disappointed! This year, the ball was dedicated to Alexander McQueen who tragically passed away in 2010.

Sarah Jessica Parker an
d Salma Hayek both wore Alexander McQueen.

SJP looke
d fantastic in a beaded full-sleeved, high neck gown, worn with pale blue Manolo Blahniks.

Salma Hayek wore a blush coloure
d gown, it's pretty but I was hoping to see some drama here through either the hairstyle, or accessories!Blake Lively (who arrived on the arm of Karl Lagerfeld) wore a Chanel couture dress and looked stunning! I love every single thing about this look and she's working those red locks!

Eternal beauty Diane Kruger wore a Jason Wu gown with a thigh high slit! On someone else, this coul
d have gone wrong but Diane makes it look so effortless and stylish!Orlando Bloom accompanied wife Miranda Kerr, who was dressed in a pouffy white Marchesa mini, and wore Nicholas Kirkwood heels. The look is fun and she totally pulls it off, and Orly looks so good!

British mo
del, Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley wore a fuschia silk Burberry dress and looked hawt!

Brooklyn Decker an
d Dianna Agron both sported Michael Kors dresses and looked fabulous!

Brooklyn's neon pink sheath worke
d perfectly, despite the risky colour and Dianna's red gown looked great on her. She accessoried with a gold cuff and a sleek low ponytail.Gisele Bundchen looked resplendant in a long red gown from Alexander McQueen. Beautiful.

Bar Rafaeli too wore McQueen, the turqouise earrings looke
d amazing with the metallic dress.
